Accessibility statement

We want everyone who visits this site, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or captions, to be able to learn about our work and reach us.

Our standard

We design and test this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which federal agencies use for the technology they buy.

Status: partially conformant. The pages we tested meet the standard except for the known limitations listed below, which we are working to close.

What we’ve built in

  • Clear headings and page regions, and a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • Every link and button can be reached and used with a keyboard, including the phone menu and the Solutions menu, which opens when it receives focus. Escape closes the phone menu, and closes the Solutions menu while focus is on the Solutions link (see known limitations).
  • A visible focus outline on every link and button.
  • Text that meets WCAG color-contrast ratios.
  • Text alternatives for informative images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Animations that switch off when your device is set to reduce motion. The home page background video is silent, has a pause button, and doesn’t play at all when reduced motion is on.
  • Layouts that reflow from phone to desktop without sideways scrolling.

How we tested

  • Automated checks: every page was scanned with axe-core against its WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules, at desktop (1440 px) and phone (375 px) widths.
  • Keyboard testing: tab order, visible focus, the Solutions dropdown and the phone menu were checked without a mouse.
  • Screen-size testing: every page was reviewed at desktop and phone widths for sideways scrolling, overlapping content and content that stays hidden.

We have not yet completed testing with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA and JAWS. That review is planned.

Known limitations

  • Solutions menu and Escape. If you have moved into the links inside the Solutions menu, pressing Escape returns focus to the Solutions link but leaves the menu open. Press Escape a second time to close it.
  • Image placeholders. A few sections still show patterned boxes with a short text label where photos will go, such as leadership portraits. They carry no information beyond their label, and we’ll replace them with described photos.
  • Company introduction video. Our 2023 introduction video is not published on this site because it does not have captions yet. We’ll add it once it has captions and a transcript.
  • Capability statement PDF. The capability statement PDF is tagged for screen readers, but we haven’t fully tested it with assistive technology yet. If any part is hard to read, contact us and we’ll send the same information in another format.
  • Other websites. Content we link to, such as LinkedIn, is outside our control.
